Jeroen Weimar

Jeroen Weimar is the Chief Operating Officer for the UK Bus division of First Group plc.  He leads the delivery of bus services for First Group across the UK stretching from Aberdeen to Cornwall with major hubs in Glasgow, Manchester, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, the Midlands, East Anglia, Essex, London, Berkshire, South Coast, South Wales, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Bristol and Bath.  First Group  employs over 27,000 people operating over 7,000 buses in the UK.

Prior to joining First, Jeroen was the Managing Director for Transport as Serco where he ran the Docklands Light Railway, London Cycle Hire Scheme and various traffic management operations across the UK.  He also ran the joint venture subsidiary operating Northern Rail and Merseyrail.  Between 2000 and 2010 Jeroen was the Chief Operating Officer for Enforcement & Compliance at Transport for London and responsible for the operation of the capital’s transport policing, traffic enforcement and congestion charging operations.  His earlier professional background was as an economist and advisor on public sector reform.

At BTPA, he is an industry representative responsible for improving relationships between the rail industry and BTP, and delivering efficiencies across BTP.

Jeroen is married with 2 children and lives in Bath.
