Esther McVey was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wirral West from 2010 until 2015, and was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Disabilities from 2012-2013, and then Minister for Employment from 2013 to 2015. She is a Privy Councillor and, in July 2014, was invited to attend Cabinet by the Prime Minister. Before entering politics, she was a businesswoman and broadcaster. Ms McVey holds degrees in Law (LLB), and an MSc in Corporate Governance. She is a Fellow at Liverpool University and Hull University and founded the ‘If Chloe Can’ charity providing career support and advice for school pupils.
Esther became Chair of the BTPA on 16 November 2015 and resigned at the end of April 2017.
