Dear colleagues

ACC Allyn Thomas (Kent) is taking forward an initiative on behalf of ACPO seeking to build partnerships between the police and local businesses.  This initiative will to help address business and retail crime, and ensure there are appropriate processes and structures in place to actively engage local businesses at all levels, from local neighbourhoods, through to the strategic priority setting and planning processes at police authority level.

The APA hopes to work with ACPO to take this initiative forward, and we will be writing jointly to forces and authorities in the near future to provide more details.  Part of the proposed approach includes holding Regional Business Crime Seminars throughout the country.  Although a formal invitation and further details will be provided within the next few weeks, we are keen to share the scheduled dates for these events as soon as possible for diary planning purposes.  The dates for the Regional Seminars are attached for your information.

If you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Regards

Tania

The Association of Police Authorities (APA) represents all police authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  It has two main functions:  to act as the national voice of police authorities and influence the national agenda on their behalf; and to help police authorities do their job locally through the development of guidance and advice on national policing, criminal justice and community safety related issues.
