Dear Colleague

The APA is represented on the NPIA led Information Systems Improvement Strategy (ISIS). This is the key mechanism for delivery of a new police technology strategy aimed at delivering on all of the Green Paper, From the Neighbourhood to the National. Sir Michael Bichards work and other more recent reviews - Flanagan, Sir Ian Magee, Robert Hannigan, Casey - all of which essentially point to the need for more joined up information systems across police forces.

Key aspects of ISIS colleagues will wish to note are the five central themes against which ISIS will deliver.

These were reported to the National Policing Board 25th November:

a.    The benefits which the programme will bring to citizens and officers, and the activity we needed to realise those benefits.

b.    The information systems landscape in 2015.

c.     A convergence plan for force and national systems.

d.    Efficiency and effectiveness benefits from better procurement and industry engagement.

e.    The operating model for the CIO to lead change on behalf of the service

Please find attached the most recent NIA Overview of the ISIS Programme; A core briefing PowerPoint presentation and relevant contact details within the NPIA.
