Dear Colleagues

You will be aware of yesterday's release by HMIC of their thematic inspection report into Protective Services planning, 'Planning to Protect'.  This report reveals deficiencies in some police forces’ plans to ensure the public are protected from threats including serious and organised crime, disasters and public order problems.

The report can be downloaded from the HMIC site here:

http://inspectorates.homeoffice.gov.uk/hmic/inspections/thematic/psr-thematic-report/

I'm pleased to enclose a press release, distributed yesterday, which outlines the APA's response to the challenges detailed in this report.

Please don't heistate to contact me with any questions on 020 7664 3178 or [email protected]

Kind regards

Nathan
