Colleagues

Please find attached a copy of the APA's response on behalf of police authorities to the CLG Consultation about Best Value and Procurement - Workforce Matters in Best Value Authority Contracting, together with a copy of our covering letter to CLG.  This response was compiled following GEM 321/208  which sought authorities' views on this consultation.

Although only a few authorities replied to this consultation, we would like to thanks those that did, as their input was very helpful.  Police authorities remain best value authorities, so will be bound by the new orders and guidance proposed in the consultation once it is finalised.  We hope that CLG will take into account the views expressed in our response to resolve some of the difficulties raised, but we will keep authorities posted about progress on this.

If you have any comments in the meantime, do please get in touch with me.

Regards
Cat McIntyre
