BTPA agrees 1.3% budget increase

BTPA has approved an increase of 1.3% to British Transport Police funding in 2010/11, with the intention to target a 0% increase the following year.
Meeting on 9 December, members of the Police Authority noted the extraordinary years of large budget increases, totalling a 57% increase between 2004 and 2009. It was also acknowledged, however, that the current economic climate is difficult, and that the previous trend of increases cannot continue.

BTPA appoints interim Chief Executive

British Transport Police Authority (BTPA) today announced the appointment of Paul Coen as interim Chief Executive.
Mr Coen was formerly Chief Executive of the Local Government Association and has wide experience spanning both the private and public sector, with over 20 years in senior local government roles.
