Martin Richards has extensive knowledge of policing from his career in the Police including as Chief Constable of Wiltshire Police (2004 – 2007) and Sussex Police (2007 – 2014) where he led considerable improvements in the performance of each force. Since retiring from the police, he has developed a portfolio career including currently being Chair of the Independent Safeguarding Panel (Chichester Diocese) and a Non-Executive Director of the Sussex NHS Partnership Trust. He is a board member of Sussex County Cricket Club and a governor at St Christopher’s School, Hove
